Robert O'Dell has been a member of our Continuing Education family since May 2014 and is an amazing instructor! He is the instructor for our Clinical Medical Assistant.
We asked Robert a few quick questions to get to know him better:
What is your favorite part about teaching? When the students say "Thank you for everything, I have learned a lot in your class," makes all of the preparation worth it!
If someone were to describe you in one word, what would it be? Depends on who that someone is; I’ve been described from one spectrum to the other, however for this I’ll say "professional."
What’s your #1 most played song? Hotel California, by Eagles
What is your favorite form of exercise? Walking
What’s your current favorite TV show/Movie? NCIS/Wild Hogs
What is something you learned in the last week? Patience
When you have 30 minutes of free-time, how do you pass the time? Celebrating thirty minutes of free-time! Really……….usually look at my note pad and mark off items completed and then add more to be done (never-ending to-do-list).
Where would you go for your dream vacation? A balcony suite on an Alaskan Cruise.
What advice do you have for new instructors of Continuing Education? Upfront; go over all of the expectations of the program, then stick to them, periodically reinforce the expectations, be consistent, and professional. Prepare for class, make it interesting and throw in some fun now and then.
